CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that delivers functional fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. It features constantly-varied functional movements performed at high intensity across broad modal and time domains. It’s constantly-varied because the workouts change daily. This keeps your body guessing with new stimuli, and you will never get bored with the same repetitive workout. Functional movements are practical movements based in reality. We simulate movements that we already perform in everyday life. High-intensity is achieved thru volume, load and time parameters. The more you lift, under time pressure; the faster you get fit.
CrossFit incorporates movements from various modalities, like gymnastics, rowing, weightlifting, powerlifting, running, yoga, plyometrics, calisthenics, strongman, high-intensity interval training, Tabata, circuit training, etc. Simply put, it is the fastest and most efficient fitness program in becoming functionally fit.
CrossFit targets 10 physical attributes that contribute to our General Physical Preparedness or GPP. This includes: endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. The program aims to improve these 10 different components.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used the same routines for the elderly with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs. You could be a complete rookie or an aging veteran and still benefit from this type of training.
